I would expect “outgrew the car” or “no longer fit” in that case.

I have a friend who is 6'5" and bought an MG Midget at one point. He “fit” with the roof down, but basically got sick of being totally hunched over after a few months and sold it on. He replaced it with a Ford Edge.

But for $1500, I feel like you could do a little restoration work, repaint it, and still come out with a sharp classic Fiat for minimal investment.
